Why SHOULD i BOOK A TOUR??

We Do The Driving

Your tour includes pick-up and drop-off at your AirBNB, hotel in Flagstaff, Williams, Tusayan or Grand Canyon Village in our comfortable, modern tour vans. We take care of manouvering through traffic and finding parking spots. With 6,000,000 people a year coming to the Grand Canyon, parking can be an issue.

We Find The Best Spots

Knowledgeable guides will take you to the best places for views and enjoyment. We will share our knowledge of area history and geology to add depth and meaning to the tour. (Did I mention that about 6,000,000 people a year coming to the Grand Canyon?) Getting away from the crowded spots is what we do. Parking can be an issue at many of those “great” spots (we have other great, less visited spots).

Lunch/Refreshments Included

Your tour includes a delicious boxed lunch (your choice from our menu). This also includes waters and snacks throughout the day to make sure you are fueled up and hydrated for the spectacular Grand Canyon Tour.

Tour Duration

Depending on the time of year, a typical Grand Canyon tour lasts about 7 hours. We leave our Flagstaff office at 9 am, and then travel 90 minutes to the Grand Canyon. With stops to pickup guests at hotels, we are usually out of Flagstaff by around 9:15 am. A Day Tour will normally leave the park between 4 and 4:30 pm. Travel time back to your hotel should get you back by around 6:00 pm. If you were picked up in Flagstaff this will be in plenty of time for any other dinner plans that you might have.

Small Group Tours

Our tour groups are no larger than 8 per tour van. This is unlike other tour companies which fill vans as full as possible. With us it means that you will not be herded like cattle (mooo!)

We think that you’ll prefer a more personalized setting for your tour.

Private tours can book different numbers per van.

Park Entrance Fee Included

Part of your fee for the tour includes the entrance fee into Grand Canyon National Park on the day of your tour.

Air-Conditioned/Heated Vehicle

Our tour vehicles are VANS which are enclosed (not open air Jeeps or Hummers). That means that when it’s COLD AND SNOWING you’ll stay warm,  when it’s WINDY you won’t be pelted by sand, when it’s RAINING you won’t have a leaking plastic walled jeep, and when it’s HOT you have Air Conditioning! That sounds like a NO BRAINER!!

We want you to ENJOY your ride and scenery in COMFORT!

High-Powered Spotting Scope

We provide our guests with the opportunity to view the Canyon with our high-powered spotting scopes. These provide up-close views of buildings, trails, hikers, the river rapids, mule trains and more within the Grand Canyon that you’d never see or realize were there.

Private Day tours

For a more intimate experience, we offer Private Day Tours for any size group. This tour includes 6 adult reservations, but can provide savings for larger families and groups. All tours are conducted on our enclosed vans, however we also have charter buses available with capacity of 50 on each bus.

Your personal guide will take you to historic buildings, remote overlooks and do it all on YOUR schedule!

Private tours are for those who are looking for a more intimate experience. Perfect for families, friends, churches, clubs and organizations wanting to have a group experience.

Available every day of the week, private tours give you the chance of experiencing the Grand Canyon with people you choose. Private tours also give you the flexible scheduling that fits YOUR needs. This customization allows the most relaxed tour, where lunches, breaks and length of stops are YOUR choice. Lunches, snacks and waters are always included on our tours (unless otherwise requested).

Inclement Weather- Weather at the Grand Canyon can vary greatly by the minute and by the location within the Canyon. We want SAFE TOURS and will never put clients in what we feel is a position of danger. High winds exist, especially during spring but can be present throughout the year. We conduct our tours during this weather. Fog comes and goes at the canyon and can make for some of the most creative images. Lightning storms need to be treated with caution. They produce incredible opportunities for beautiful images but also opportunities for injury. We treat them with utmost caution and keep clients in our van if storms are nearby. If at any time during a tour, you or anyone in your party feels unsafe or threatened in any way, please tell your guide immediately. It is your obligation to inform us when you feel unsafe with any activity associated with your tour.

Additional Information – THE WORKS Grand Canyon day tour originates in Flagstaff, Williams, Tusayan or Grand Canyon Village every day. We’ve designed our tours to give you a positive, comfortable and informative experience. We don’t believe that being herded like cattle or being crammed into an overcrowded vehicle is the way to be treated. To ensure that you don’t have to endure that kind of memory, we only have small groups. Your day starts out when we pick you up at your hotel in one of our full size 12 or 15 passenger vans AND we limit our day tour groups to a maximum of 8 guests per vehicle. The ONLY exception to that is if a private tour is booked.

The amazing landscape of the Grand Canyon is truly a wonder to behold. We present it in a way allowing you to have this awesome experience in a personal and intimate way for your memories and enjoyment. We incorporate our knowledge of the History and Geology of the Grand Canyon along with the best viewing and photographic opportunities during our Grand Canyon DAY TOURS. This planning allows you to see the best locations at the optimal times of the day. We take the time to allow you to have a similar experience that for your trip. For those who may want a more photography oriented trip, see our Photo Tour page.

Preparing for your Day Tour- Bring your camera and hat and any other clothing that will be appropriate based on the weather – we’ll bring the rest – just be ready for a great day enjoying the sights and history of the Grand Canyon as presented by your knowledgeable local guide! Throughout the year weather changes can occur rapidly. Plan on layered clothing and wear a hat. A jacket or sweatshirt should be brought as evenings can get into the 40-degree range even in summer. Sunscreen should always be worn and moisture wicking clothing is recommended. Bring chapstick. Although we will do all that is possible to help, it is your responsibility to check the weather and to bring what you will need. Comfortable shoes should be worn, with an emphasis on support. Although we don’t go on trails, there can be uneven ground and rocky terrain in some locations. Please plan for this. Tour length is approximate and includes travel time from and back to your pickup point

Liability Waiver – Although Licensed, Insured and Authorized by the GCNP and ADOT, a “Liability Waiver Release” form is required to be completed and signed prior to your tour. Some physical activity is involved even though we do not hike below the rim. Please note our restrictions at check out.
